Former Super Eagle Amunike thanks FIFA for new job
Former Super Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amunike has thanked world football governing body, FIFA, for considering him good enough to be a member of the 2018 World Cup technical study group.
The 1994 African Footballer of The Year was chosen to be part of the panel in selecting the 2018 FIFA Best Player, from a pool of 10 top stars that will be shortlisted this month alongside Ronaldo De Lima, Fabio Capello and Frank Lampard
Amunike said his appreciation has gone even higher, as he returns to the Mundial to resume work with the technical group that will study players’ performances and coaches’ tactics, as they roll out match reports for all the quarter-finals that started on Friday.
The Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning coach said: “I feel grateful. It is a good one for me personally. It is not just because of my time playing football.
“I am grateful FIFA deemed me good enough to be part of the exercise. I will continue to work harder and add my quota to the development of football.”
