Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in presidential elections in Akwa Ibom State.

Atiku took the lead in 28 of the 31 local government areas of the state, while Mr Buhari won in only two, according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Elections did not hold in one local government area, Udung Uko, because of a militant attack on INEC officials, Says; INEC 

The PDP candidate, Atiku, scored 397,831 votes while his APC challenger, Mr Buhari, got 175,429 votes.

Note : Mr Buhari won in Godswill Akpabio’s local government area, Essien Udim, and Mbo .

Atiku Abubakar, candidat du Parti populaire démocratique (PDP), a battu le président Muhammadu Buhari aux élections présidentielles de l’État d’Akwa Ibom.

Selon les résultats annoncés par la Commission électorale nationale indépendante (INEC), Atiku a pris les devants dans 28 des 31 zones de gouvernement local de l’État, tandis que M. Buhari n’a gagné que dans deux.

Les élections ne se sont pas tenues dans une région du gouvernement local, Udung Uko, en raison d’une attaque militante contre des responsables de l’INEC, dit-elle; INEC

Le candidat du PDP, Atiku, a obtenu 397 831 voix, et que son concurrent, M. Buhari, a obtenu 175 429 voix.

Remarque: M. Buhari a gagné dans la zone d’administration locale de Godswill Akpabio, Essien Udim et Mbo
