Nigeria, Senegal and 12 African countries that have qualified for 2023 AFCON as Ghana risks missing out
At least 14 countries have qualified for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
This follows the completion of Matchday 5 qualifying fixtures last weekend.
Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau have booked their spots from Group A. The Cape Verde Islands are through from Group B and Mali from Group G.
They join hosts Ivory Coast, holders Senegal, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia in the finals that kicks off January 2024.
A total of 24 countries – the top two teams in each of the 12 qualifying groups -will qualify to play in the tournament.
There are three more fixtures to complete the fifth rounds of qualifiers and they will all be played on Tuesday.
Meanwhile The Black Stars Of Ghana picked a risk of missing out after playing a draw game against Madagascar as it remains just a must win match for Ghana facing the Central African Republic .
