Mr Eazi speaks on Fave leaving his record label
Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, better known by his stage name Mr Eazi, has said fast-rising Nigerian singer-songwriter Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, known professionally as Fave, refused to renew her deal with his record label, emPawa Africa.
On a podcast with Nigerian journalist, Joey Akan, Mr Eazi stated that he signed Fave when she was making less than $2,000, but after investing $80,000 in her, she started doing well.
He said that after the deal ended, she wanted to go elsewhere.
Mr Eazi emphasised that the beauty of his label is the freedom they give to their artists.
“When I signed Fave, she wasn’t making up to $2k a month. I put $80k on that and it blew up. I wanted to renew, but she said “no.”
