Swedish police have reportedly expanded their investigation after Kylian Mbappe was accused of r@pe and s3xual harassment earlier this month.

The French star, who denies the allegations, was visiting Sweden with friends between October 9 to October 11, staying at the Bank Hotel in the city centre.

Shortly after, Mbappe had blasted a report from Aftonbladet as ‘fake news’ about an alleged rape at the hotel that took place on Thursday, October 10.

However, Swedish newspaper Expressen later claimed it was Mbappe who is being investigated by police after allegations were made against the Real Madrid star. Mbappe has not officially been named as a suspect.

On the aforementioned night, Mbappe had visited the Chez Jolie restaurant, before heading to the V nightclub and finally back to his hotel in a black van with his entourage.

The 25-year-old played his first game since the allegations for Real Madrid at the weekend, scoring in their 2-1 win over Celta Vigo.

But, Aftonbladet have now claimed the investigation into the accusations is actively underway, with police and forensics opening a probe at the hotel.

The report goes onto claim that police visited the hotel at the weekend and have interviewed several staff members.

This has been done to understand which rooms and general areas were used by Mbappe and his entourage, with it believed that CCTV cameras will be crucial in the probe.

Police also checked the suite that Mbappe stayed in.

Cameras are based outside each hotel room in the corridors, but police and prosecutors have remained tight-lipped on any updates to the case.

However, the report adds that the forensic investigators were seen carrying out several brown paper bags as they exited the hotel.
