WAEC extends deadline for 2025 private candidates WASSCE

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an extension to the registration period for the 2025 WASSCE for Private Candidates, First Series.

The initial registration deadline, set for Monday, January 6, 2025, has now been extended to Monday, January 20, 2025.

 

In a statement shared via its official X account, WAEC informed intending candidates that the extension provides additional time for those wishing to sit for the examination.

 

According to WAEC’s official website, the extended registration period allows candidates to generate their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) by January 20, 2025.

Candidates are also required to complete their biometrics capture and finalise their online registration by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

“WASSCE For Private Candidate 2025, FIRST SERIES Normal Registration is on-going. Closing date for Generation of PIN is Monday, January 20, 2025. Intending candidates are to finish their Biometrics capturing and Online registration by 11:59pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.”

The WASSCE for Private Candidates is an exam for students who register independently of a school or institution. It’s also known as the General Certificate Examination (GCE) or WAEC GCE.
