[Ondo State Nigeria] Masquerade Arrested by The Police for Stabbing Man To Death –– {État d’Ondo au Nigeria} Mascarade arrêtée par la police pour avoir poignardé à mort un homme : KOSERENAIJA

A suspected masquerade has been apprehended in Akure, the Ondo State capital by the Police for allegedly stabbing a young man to death.

According to the  report , the incident occured at Olomoyeye Street, Oke-Aro, Akure when the deceased identified as Femi Makanjuola went to buy some food items.

He was said to have been accosted by the masquerade who demanded for money, as eye witness said the deceased had just secured a job with Dangote Cement Company.

The masquerade and his accomplice reportedly stabbed Makanjuola to death after he was said to have refused to yield to the demand of the masquerade.

He said; “Makanjuola resides with his brother, he had secured a job with Dangote cement company in Benin city with the hope of resuming office on Monday, 8th October 2018.

“He was preparing to cook beans and had gone to a nearby shop for ingredients to spice up the food when he met his death.”   

It was also alleged that their had been an altercation between the alleged killer and the deceased some weeks ago, which was said to have

been settled by mother of the deceased, Mrs. Monisola Awosanmi who also confirmed the preexisting animosity between her slain son and the father of the alleged killer.

Parading the suspect at the State Police Command,its Spokesman, Femi Joseph who confirmed the incident, said the chief priest of the masquerade crew had been arrested.

The PPRO maintained that preliminary investigation into the matter have already commenced with the suspect already assisting the police with relevant information.

He said “All Over the world what we know about masquerade dance is to entertain the people. What happened in Akure was to the contrary.

“Five young boys were on a outing with one of them acting as a masqurader, and they got to where one Femi Makanjuola was. The masqueraders demanded money which the deceased refused to give and this did not go down well with them. 

“The argument led to the stabbing of the deceased after he had been thoroughly beaten by the masqueraders and his followers. Investigation is ongoing towards apprehending other accomplices involved in the crime”.

However, the suspected masquerade who has been identified as Olu Olowokere denied involvement in the killing of Makanjuola.

Une mascarade présumée a été appréhendée à Akure, la capitale de l’État d’Ondo, par la police pour avoir poignardé à mort un jeune homme.

Selon le reportage, l’incident s’est produit rue Olomoyeye, Oke-Aro, Akure, lorsque la personne décédée identifiée comme étant Femi Makanjuola était allée acheter des produits alimentaires.

Il aurait été accosté par la mascarade qui réclamait de l’argent. Un témoin oculaire a déclaré que le défunt venait tout juste de décrocher un emploi chez Dangote Cement Company.

La mascarade et son complice auraient poignardé Makanjuola après qu’il aurait refusé de se plier à la demande de la mascarade.

Il a dit; «Makanjuola réside avec son frère, il avait décroché un emploi chez Dangote, un cimentier de la ville de Benin, dans l’espoir de reprendre ses fonctions le lundi 8 octobre 2018.

“Il se préparait à cuisiner des haricots et s’était rendu dans un magasin voisin pour trouver des ingrédients pour pimenter la nourriture quand il est mort.”

Mme Monisola Awosanmi, mère du défunt, a également réglé l’affaire et a confirmé l’animosité préexistante entre son fils décédé et le père du meurtrier présumé.

Le porte-parole, Femi Joseph, qui a confirmé l’incident, a indiqué que le principal prêtre de l’équipe de la mascarade avait été arrêté.

Le PPRO a maintenu que l’enquête préliminaire sur l’affaire avait déjà commencé et que le suspect fournissait déjà des informations pertinentes à la police.

Il a déclaré: «Partout dans le monde, ce que nous savons de la danse masquée est de divertir les gens. Ce qui s’est passé à Akure était au contraire.

«Cinq jeunes garçons ont participé à une sortie avec l’un d’entre eux agissant en tant que masqurader, et ils sont arrivés là où se trouvait une Femi Makanjuola. Les masqueurs ont exigé de l’argent que le défunt a refusé de donner et cela ne leur a pas donné satisfaction

«L’argument a conduit à la mort du défunt après que celui-ci ait été complètement battu par les masqueurs et ses partisans. Une enquête est en cours pour appréhender d’autres complices impliqués dans le crime ».

Cependant, la mascarade présumée identifiée comme étant Olu Olowokere a nié avoir participé au meurtre de Makanjuola.
